Lately I’ve noticed a plethora of new websites launching that are promising to pay their visitors in return for them renting out their Facebook ad accounts & some of them have even been offering hundreds of dollars per month in return for doing so…

But despite the potential promise of big money no doubt you’ll still be pretty wary about it – after all it does sound pretty dodgy in general & the idea of handing over your Facebook details to a random website online likely feels a bit daunting.

So what’s the truth about it? Is it really legit & can you really earn money by renting out your Facebook ad account? Or is there some sort of scam at hand that’ll see you getting conned & potentially losing your Facebook account?

How Does Renting Your Facebook Account Work?

So the idea is that you’ll allegedly only be renting out the “Facebook ads” side of your Facebook account, which means according to the websites offering the rental service that you don’t actually need to give out your personal Facebook username/password.

The majority of them claim that all you need to do is download & install a browser extension which enables them to access the business side of your Facebook account, the Facebook ads account through separate credentials.

Some of them claim that there is no need for a browser extension & that you can just simply send them the details…

After doing that (providing you’re eligible) they claim that they’ll then simply send you a payment each month for as long as you continue renting the account, and most say they’ll send the first payment within just 24 hours.

It certainly sounds good, and since some of the sites are promising up to $500 per month it can sound quite tempting too, but is it really legit? Will they really pay you or is there something dodgy going on with all of this?

Well I’ll get onto that in just a moment, but first to even consider renting out your account you must be eligible as mentioned above & most of the Facebook rental sites seem to have the exact same eligibility criteria in place which is typically as follows;

• Facebook account must have 100 friends
• Facebook account must be over 1 year old
• You must never have used the “Facebook Ads” side of the account
• You must be over 21 years of age
• You must have a PayPal account in order to receive payments

If you don’t meet any of the above criteria then it’s pointless even thinking about this whole renting your Facebook ad account thing because the sites won’t even consider you & so you may as well just pick an alternative legitimate method from my top picks page here instead.

But if you do meet the criteria then can you really make money by renting out your Facebook ad account? And should you apply?

The answer to that is “maybe”, but likely NO, and I don’t recommend you apply because as you’ll see below it could actually be very dangerous indeed…

The TRUTH About Renting Your Facebook Ad Account

All of the websites promoting the opportunity to rent your Facebook ad account make it seem like a great idea. They offer lots of money & they attempt to reassure you by making the whole thing seem like it will be safe.

But will it?

In my opinion as an expert online marketer the answer is no – and there is a simple reason for that. If these companies genuinely are interested in renting your Facebook ad accounts then they are up to something suspicious, plain and simple.

If they weren’t, they’d use their own accounts… So quite clearly it seems like their own accounts have been banned & that they’re trying to use the accounts of others to do their “dodgy” advertising… IF they are actually interested in renting your account.

You see there’s been a lot of complaints online about these Facebook account renting websites stating that they’re actually just data-harvesting scams which attempt to steal your data & break into your accounts.

It appears that the offer of money in return for renting your Facebook account to them is just a ploy for them to get you to download a dangerous phishing extension or to trick you into sending them your details.

Just take a look at some of the reviews of TheBucks.Club website’s browser extension which highlight that point:

And it also seems that the websites offering to pay you for renting your Facebook ad account all seem to follow similar designs to other dangerous referral scams I’ve been exposing such as SwagPay, InfluEarn & CashOG.

Those scams have been getting heavily promoted through hijacked social media accounts & it’s possible that the Facebook account rental websites are just ploys so that they can get the details to promote those scams.

I’ll point out that I don’t have any solid proof of that specifically, but it does look highly likely from what I’ve seen & read elsewhere.

And also there’s another HUGE red-flag which is the fact that typically the websites offering to pay people to rent their Facebook accounts give absolutely NO details whatsoever about themselves.

The display no address, limited contact details & hide the details of their domain name registrations. This isn’t the act of a legitimate company as far as I’m concerned & it shows they have something to hide.

Not only that, but it’s essentially like handle over your details to a complete stranger that you’ve just met… I imagine you wouldn’t do that, so likewise you shouldn’t hand them over to a website that gives no information about itself.

And that brings me onto…

Is It Safe To Rent Out Your Facebook Account?

In my opinion no, it’s not safe to do so – plain and simple. As far as I’m concerned one way or another there will be a bad outcome from signing up to one of these so-called “Facebook rental websites”.

If they are really renting Facebook ad accounts for advertising as they claim then it’s quite clear they’re up to something suspicious otherwise they would just use their own accounts. Best outcome of this scenario is that your Facebook account gets banned, worst case scenario is that it gets banned and you land yourself in a lot of trouble for running the ads.

However personally I don’t believe they are running advertising – and that’s likely why most of the sites don’t provide any genuine contact details. I believe there is something much more dangerous going on, such as the phishing scam that I mentioned a little earlier.

Either way I would recommend that you give the whole renting your Facebook account out thing a wide-berth because it just spells bad news. Plus there’s really no need to as there are already many legitimate & proven ways to make money online.
